I had so much fun photographing this family. They were easy-going and pretty funny.  It was a milestone for this family because their youngest has graduated from high school and they will now have two in college.  This was probably the last time they will have professional portraits made until someone gets married.  They certainly made the most of it and now have beautiful portraits hanging in their home to always remember this time.  I always encourage families with High School Seniors to have a family photo session after graduation while everyone is still home and able to take part.  It is amazing how hard it is to get everyone together once kids start moving away.

It is a great time for High School Seniors to have their portraits made. I still have some spots just for Seniors next month so contact me if you need more details.  The light in the late afternoon is gorgeous!

I was thrilled to have placed in the National Association of Child Photographers (NAPCP) 2013 International Image Competition with the two below images.  It was a great surprise to see the first Senior Image as a large print at the recent educational retreat I attended in Charleston, South Carolina. By the way, Congratulations to Matt, the most timeless baseball player to ever hit Campbell High School.  Graduation is less than a week away!  I’ll be posting more images from my Charleston trip in a few days.  Until then, here is the NAPCP press release that was issued:

Happy Easter and April Fools Day! I’m sharing Mary Beth’s Senior Portrait Session today.  We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather on this afternoon and had a good time walking around looking for some decent light.  I think she looks absolutely stunning, don’t you?

I loved the Spring colors she picked and especially this fun coral striped dress.  It is a nice color for families to incorporate into their sessions as well – see below.  Mary Beth is a fun girl and I love all the expressions she makes.  I have known her since she was a little girl and she has always been such a sweet girl.

Wind and Hair can make a tricky combination!

What fun pops of coral, orange and pink colors on this family wardrobe of neutral colors.  Jeans and khakis are the way to go!  This will look great against a natural backdrop with greenery and trees in the background.

Congratulations on your Graduation, Mary Beth!  I know you still have some work ahead of you but you are in the home stretch and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!

On the 8th Day of Christmas… A Baseball Inspired Senior Boy Session Share

I know I say all my Seniors are so nice and great but this one really is!  We shot his whole session in and around the baseball field where he plays for his High School Team.  We captured a lot – the uniform, field, casual jeans & polo pictures and the Letter Jacket too.  We captured some really nice images to reflect what a big part of his Senior Year of High School was all about.  We also got the classic and timeless shots that never get old.  I was so happy to be the one to have this session with him.

Gift Ideas for the Baseball Enthusiast:

Teenagers might like a Snap-On Baseball Case for iPhone.  I also found a site called EverythingBaseball.com (which sums it up).  There are a lot of unique baseball gifts you can purchase.

Shutterfly is having a sale on Calendars – buy one and the rest are 50% off.  You could surprise your baseball fan with a calendar full of your favorite baseball pictures.  You can also get 40% off of photobooks through the 10th.  You will have to move on those things pretty quickly to get the deals and have it in hand for Christmas.

Good luck!

Merry Christmas!

By now many High School Graduation invitations and announcements have been mailed out all over Atlanta.  What an exciting time of life for all of these new graduates.  They have wonderfully bright futures and their whole lives ahead of them.  Congratulations, Class of 2012!  I hope you all have a fun and very memorable weekend.  Oh yeah, and take lots of pictures!
