Happy New Year!

Brothers and Sisters share from from last year (that is weird to say LAST year). They are all so cute! Thank you to all of you who supported my business this past year. I really appreciate it and look forward to more memorable moments in 2017.

Now, who is ready for school to start?

Smyrna Family Photography Session

I’m happy to share this photo session of a great Smyrna, Georgia family.  Their kids mimic mine – 2 boys and one girl. Little Sisters definitely know how to roll with the punches and stand up for themselves. 🙂

Another lovely Christmas Card Picture!

Merry Christmas!

I am a Smyrna, Georgia photographer capturing families in the Atlanta Metro area. You can find more information about how to book a session for your own professional family photos on my contact page HERE.  I use natural light in the portraits I create as opposed to studio lights and backdrops. My favorite backdrop is nature (especially trees).  I would love to be your family photographer so that you will have framed prints of your favorite people hanging on the wall!

smyrna-lantta-family smyrna-family-lanttaI love this beautiful Smyrna family and I’m so happy to share their Fall Session. I love the denim, navy, and purple in these pictures. Navy is always my go-to but I love how purple stands out especially in the Fall. Really cute little girls never hurt either. 🙂  I was happy to capture the “sister-picture” that these sweet girls always want.  At this mornings Upward Basketball game, the little one said “Mrs. Lisa we have gotten lots of compliments on your pictures.” One day when her parents aren’t looking I am going to take her home with me!

I love the timeless feel of black and white.  Always will.

Merry Christmas, Smyrna!

ourtown family ourtown family ourtown familyI’ve known the Cochrans for many years so what a surprise when we were matched up for the latest Our Town. There couldn’t be a more perfect family to be featured on the cover and when we added their new puppy, Buddy, we had cuteness overload! They were a little nervous about bringing Buddy because he isn’t known for his…good behavior (yet).  I’ve worked with lots of puppies in photo sessions so I felt confident he should be there and he definitely did not disappoint. Look how good he is in these pictures! Hopefully he didn’t go home and chew up all their shoes.

ourtown family ourtown familyThis is a Vinings Estates family and the kids go to Whitefield Academy in Mableton where the whole family is very active. What better place for a family portrait than at the place where they spend so much time. Whitefield was very generous and were happy to have us shoot on their campus. The weather had turned cold and rainy again and we rescheduled at least once to avoid SNOW at our session. In Atlanta, we think of warmer weather for March and flowers so we had hoped for a more spring-like setting. Luckily we had bright sun on the day we shot and we avoided the rain and snow after all.

Buddy is a Boykin Spaniel.

Just a few of my favorite families

February is here and I am still writing the wrong year. It is already flying by! It is never too late to thank all my clients who continually trust me to capture their growing families year after year. I love them all in their various sizes and stages and I hope they will remember 2015 fondly when they look at their beautiful portraits.  Thank you for making last year an amazing experience and 2016 so far is just as great for Lisa Phillipson Photography. 🙂

I’m looking forward to everything 2016 holds for my photography business. Just like the families I photograph, my business grows and changes and there is always something exciting going on. I will be scheduling families again by the end of February and that is where my heart really is. So far this year I have created several albums for clients that I am now waiting to arrive. I love holding something tangible as a great reminder of a fun session. I also photographed my friend, Luke Lantta, for a political campaign which was something different for me but a pleasure to do. I have another Our Town photo shoot next week and I can’t wait to reveal which family will be on the March cover! More on all of this soon including a recap of my time at the Ritz Carlton, Reynold’s Plantation for the National Association of Professional Child Photographers annual conference.

Happy New Year!

(Late on social media but see this post to know I at least ordered my Valentine’s Day cards on time!)

Father Father Father

Father’s Day Fun

I don’t always get around to sharing all of my sessions online so in honor of Father’s Day I went back a few months to find one showcasing Dad. The images I captured definitely showed all personalities in this family with Dad being thoughtful as well as goofy and silly with the kids. What great memories to remember Dad rolling in the grass and having fun.

We saw Pixar’s Inside Out on Friday when it opened. Not to give too much away, but when the main character, Riley, lost her goofball-ness I teared up a little. Men seem to hold on to their goofball personalities more than most ladies and it is fun to see how being a Dad can really bring it out of them.

As a side note: We saw Inside Out at the newly remodeled AMC at Parkway Point. I probably would have been a fan of the reserved seating had I been anywhere except the first row.  Two thumbs up for the reclining seats and lumbar pillow. I’m a fan of few animated movies but this one was pretty good. If you cried at Toy Story 3, you will probably tear up (or weep) with this one too. I would say that it’s just me but the Mom next to me was wiping her eyes a LOT.  A good movie to see this summer especially since you can take the whole family.

Happy Father’s Day!

If you don’t have big Father’s Day Fun planned IMDb has a list of the best movies to watch with Dad. Hide away inside and take in one of these Father-Flicks here. Field of Dreams is #1 and that is tolerable although I would still pick anything with Will Ferrell first!
